Anaheim Heritage Band, Orchestra, and Choir trip News: Printed here below and also included as an attachment to make it easier for you to print out, is information regarding our band tour in May.  Any fundraising credit that your son or daughter has earned will be applied to the total cost below for the Anaheim trip thus reducing the final payment due by that amount.  Also please scroll way below for information on our band retreat proposed by band student council members for January 28-29, 2011.

Lake Washington’s Band, Lyrica and Orchestra are attending the Heritage Festival in Anaheim, California. The date of the competition weekend is May 26th-29th.The cost of the trip is expected to be $700, and will include:

  *   Airfare and ground transportation in Anaheim for all 4 days

  *   Hotel accommodations (3 nights)

  *   Heritage Festival Awards Ceremony at Disneyland

  *   One Group Dinner

  *   Entrance to Disneyland and California Adventure (1 day pass)

  *   Transportation for large band and orchestra instruments

In order to reserve your place, we need a firm commitment from the parents and students in the form of a signed Commitment letter and nonrefundable $150 deposit, due by January 14th (Friday) to the ASB office. If your student drops out FOR ANY REASON after the March 11th deadline, payment in full is required.

 The payment schedule will be:

   *   $100 deposit                January 14th (Friday)  To reserve your place for the trip, you must make this deposit by Jan.14th.

  *   $200 payment              February 16th (Wednesday)

  *   $200 payment              March 11th  (Friday) (Last day to drop out without penalty!)

  *   $200 payment              April 15th (Friday)

 If we do not get at least 90 students to commit by January 14th, we will not attend this year and will return your $100 deposit. Otherwise, that deposit is nonrefundable. After March 11th, payment IN FULL is required for all participants, even if they cannot attend due to unforeseen circumstances

Band Retreat Update for January 28-29, at Warm Beach Camp. As a reminder, Band Student Council Representatives have proposed an overnight Band Retreat for Friday, Jan.28 through Saturday Jan 29, to be held at Warm Beach camp near Marysville, WA.  Activities would include team building through an outdoor adventure course,  meals, and some general bonding time with our fellow band members.  School bus transportation to and from, meals, and lodging would be provided for a cost to each band student of $90.00.  We would leave LWHS at about 2:30 p.m. on Friday and return to LW at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.  If there are any parent volunteers who would like to chaperone, we would welcome that.  Please email me at jlogan@lwsd.org<mailto:jlogan@lwsd.org> if you would like to chaperone.  Students interested in attending will need to pay the $90.00 fee to the ASB Bookkeepers Office (Checks made out to LWHS) by Friday, January 7.  This retreat is an entirely optional event.  We will use it as a prepatory event in order to make us all the more effective as a team and as a band for our main priority, our trip in May to Anaheim, California for participation in the Heritege Festival.
