*********************************************************************************************************** Saturday, February 06, 2010 - Northlake League Solo & Ensemble Contest Dear Music Program Families, The list of student entries is appended below. You can find your student's performance(s) listed under their name with the time and location. If they are participating in an ensemble (i.e. the Lake Washington Strings or Lyrica Vocal Ensemble), it will be listed under their name as well so you can easily track each of their commitments in the various categories. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the schedule. The Solo & Ensemble Regional competition will be hosted by Lake Washington High School this year on Saturday, February 6th, 8am - 5pm. We would like to make this a stellar event that sets a high bar for organization for years to come! To do this, we'll need LOTS of volunteers...potentially up to 90 people! Here are descriptions for the jobs we need filled: Home Room monitors (27 adults): Bring a good book, crossword puzzle or a laptop because you're going to have a lot of free quiet time! We need 9 volunteers for each 3 hour shift to guard the Homerooms of the 9 participating high schools. While students will be allowed to come and go, you'll be there to make sure that no one outside that school's students have access to belongings kept in the room. Performance Room monitors (48 adults): Bring a pleasant, but firm attitude! We need 16 volunteers for each 3 hour shift to keep people OUT once a student has begun performing, and to keep the adjudicators on schedule. Your reward: you will get to hear all the performances for that room during your shift! We have 3 hour shifts set up, so you should be able to work around your student's schedule if they are performing. Remember to check to see when your student will be performing to minimize conflicts (see appended list, below.) We'll need extra room monitors to fill in for breaks, so even if you can't commit to a full 3 hours, we could still use your help. Or if you would like to donate food items, we'll need enough to feed 50 adults breakfast and lunch.
